Gang shooting in Surrey kills 1

A 27-year-old man died in hospital after being injured in a shooting in Surrey, B.C., on Saturday night.

A 27-year-old man is dead after being injured in a shooting in Surrey, B.C., on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as Stephen Leone.

Police say a man wearing a balaclava approached a black Acura TL and opened fire on three men standing near the car just after 8 p.m. PT near King George Boulevard and 100th Avenue.

Police say Leone was hit and taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The two other men drove themselves to the hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.

Police say the shooting has the earmarks of a targeted, gang-related shooting.
