Elderly woman missing in northern B.C.

RCMP have launched a full-scale search for an elderly woman, two days after she disappeared in northern B.C.

RCMP have launched a full-scale search for an elderly woman, two days after she disappeared in northern B.C.

Officers say 89-year-old Margaret Nooski was last seen hitchhiking on Highway 16 near Fraser Lake.

They think she may have been trying to get to Prince George, or she may have headed into the bush in search of her traditional trapping territory.

Police say Nooski is suffering from dementia and has difficulty walking. She was last seen on Saturday afternoon.

A police helicopter searched the area Monday and a full ground search was underway Tuesday. It's the second time in recent months that an elderly woman has disappeared in northern B.C.

A Métis elder disappeared from Kelly Lake in August. A search failed to turn up any sign of Eva Mitchell.
