Couple arrested in 'vicious' Victoria assault

A couple has been arrested in what police are calling a vicious assault on a 23-year-old woman in Victoria, B.C.

Two people have been arrested in connection with what police are calling a "vicious assault" in Victoria, B.C.

Police say the investigation began when they got a call from someone who said a woman, who appeared to have been assaulted, came to her door at about 1 a.m. PT Thursday to ask for help in getting a taxi.

Investigators contacted local taxi companies and traced the 23-year-old victim's address.

After speaking with the victim, officers identified two suspects. A 46-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, who are both known to police, were arrested on Friday morning.

Police also seized a pellet gun and stun gun allegedly used in the "vicious assault."

Charges have not been laid, but police say the case involves allegations of forcible confinement, extortion, sexual assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
