Send us your tips to hold individuals, institutions and organizations in your community to account
Do you have an issue impacting you or your community that deserves investigation? We want to know about it. Email us today at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CBC Vancouver launched its official Impact Team in 2019.
Seasoned reporters Belle Puri, Eric Rankin and Jesse Johnston join forces to investigate and report on stories that impact you and your community -- ensuring the people behind the problem are held to account.
Examples of recent stories include:
Fatal ambulance service delays
Medical coverage for life-changing drugs
Problems with accessibility in B.C
ICBC settlement delays
An award-winning broadcast journalist with 30 years experience, Belle Puri has been with the CBC since 1992. Belle has worked as a reporter, producer and host in radio and television. After four years as a business reporter for the national Newsworld Business News program, Belle worked as the B.C. Legislative Bureau Chief for CBC's Canada Now. Prior to that, she spent three years as Senior Assignment Producer for CBC Broadcast One. Belle doesn't have much free time, but when she has a few moments to herself you can find her working in her garden or baking.
Eric Rankin is an award-winning CBC reporter and investigative journalist. His honours include the 2018 Canadian Screen Award for Best Local Reporting, the 2017 and 2015 RTDNA awards for Best In-depth/Investigative Reporting, and the 2009 Jack Webster award for Best News Reporting.
Jesse Johnston worked in private radio from 2004 to 2014 in Vancouver, Red Deer and Calgary. He spent the next five years based out of Surrey (his hometown) as CBC's South of the Fraser reporter until he joined the Impact Team in 2019. Jesse is a two-time recipient of the RTDNA Dave Rogers Award for Best Short Radio Feature. He loves radio, running and dogs. He also loves the Detroit Lions, but if you follow him on Twitter, you already knew that.
