CBC Musical Nooners return for their 8th year!

Join us July 7 - August 25, 2017

We're making a big splash with this year's Musical Nooners summer concerts! 

The popular CBC Musical Nooners summer concerts return for their 8th year! 

Beginning on July 7 and ending August 25, these free, live music concerts will be happening every weekday on the CBC Vancouver outdoor stage, located at 700 Hamilton Street (between West Georgia and Robson) in Vancouver. Grab your lunch, your friends, your kids or your co-workers and join us Monday to Friday from 12 - 1 pm! 

While we do control the line-up, we can't control the weather. Be sure to follow @CBCVancouver and #musicalnooners for updates and schedule changes due to inclement weather.

Monday, August 21

Leah Barley
Hailing from Saskatchewan, this bluesy folk singer has made a name for herself touring all over Canada. Now calling Vancouver home, she continues to tour all over B.C

Tuesday, August 22
Dave Bawa
Get moving to this upbeat fusion artist, Dave Bawa. This home-grown artist from Victoria, BC has accolades from around the world. With influences from hip-hop, R & B, soul, and funk, Bawa's music has little something for everyone.

Wednesday, August 23
​Fionn
The ultimate definition of "twinning", this singer-songwriter duo and twins, Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris hit our stage. Since the age of twelve they have be playing shows throughout B.C., the now 19 year old girls are up and coming stars.

Roy Forbes

A voice you never forget, Roy Forbes sings folk music with conviction and authority. This classic Canadian Folk artist is not one to be missed.

​Coco Jafro
Urban Artists of the year and 2016 CBC Searchlight finalists, this band packs a punch on the urban music scene. With the sounds of R&B, funk, soul, jazz, and afro-beats, this fusion and bold sound is the perfect way to end our Musical Nooners summer concert series.

Friday, July 7 – OPENING DAY 

Fake Shark – 12:00pm – 12:30pm 
Said The Whale – 12:45pm – 1:45pm

With hits like "Cheap Thrills" and "Heart 2 Heart", synthy art-pop artists Fake Shark will kick off Musical Nooners. Get ready to move to their punky, funky, and toe tapping jams.

Then move your senses over to Juno award winning indie rock, feel good band, Said the Whale.  Their new album "As Long As Your Eyes Are Wide" has given us the top twenty hit "I Will Follow You". This afternoon of hit music is not to be missed!

Old Soul Rebel
This break-through band will rock your soul, with a blend of retro inspired jams. Formed in 2015 this group brings a fresh take on old school rock n' roll with a little spice of soul.

Khari Wendell McClelland
Born in Detroit, McClelland is a member of the admired Vancouver gospel trio The Sojourners. A mix of emotion and danceable music gives this artist his likeable sound. From deep soul and gospel energy, be amazed by Khari's powerful vocals.

The Long War - 2017 Searchlight Winner
The Long War's winning song "Breathe in Breathe Out" wowed the CBC Searchlight team this year. Check out this Vancouver based Canadian Folk rock band and hear what impressed the judges.

The Velveteins

Steph Cameron​

Bring your kids for this special activity-filled day - from noon to 2pm!

Will Stroet from CBC Kids 
Concert - 12pm - 1pm
Activities - 12pm - 2pm 
Children's performer Will Stroet of Will's Jams from CBC Kids will be on stage to delight young fans and their parents alike. Guests can mingle with mascots Scout from CBC Kids' and Parka from Parks Canada, make creations at the craft centre and participate in an adventurous scavenger hunt.
