According to Jean Larrivée, it's all about quality wood. He should know. He's been building guitars by hand for half a century.

It's 25-year-old East Indian rosewood of the highest quality back and sides, with aged and seasoned British Columbia Sitka spruce on top,a one-piece mahogany neck, and with an old seasoned ebony fingerboard and bridge. It's a relatively small-bodied guitar with a powerful and versatile voice, creating a clean articulate treble, mid-range complemented by a rich bass.
