Child porn suspected on B.C. senior's computers

Police in B.C. are investigating a senior with several sex-related convictions after seizing computers and hard drives containing alleged child pornography.

Abbotsford police said Thursday they seized 23 computers and 31 hard drives last week from the home of the man, who is in his late 60s, said spokesman Const. Ian MacDonald.

The man, who has not been named, has seven previous convictions, including sexual assault and sexual interference.

MacDonald said police were withholding the suspect's identity because he had not yet been charged and also out of concerns about vigilante actions against him from other members of the Abbotsford community.

The man is not in custody.

MacDonald said it could take investigators up to a year to go through the massive amount of material seized from the home.
