A three-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after falling two storeys from a home in Langley on Tuesday.

RCMP Insp. Davis Wendall says police were called to the home in the Walnut Grove area around 3:45 p.m. PT.

The girl was flown to B.C. Children's Hospital and treated for her injuries.

Wendall would not comment on the condition of the child or the extent of her injuries.

"It appears to be just one of those situations where on these hot nights, children make their way to a window and as a result of that, children being curious as they will from time to time, dismantle the screen that was apparently in place."

Wendall says the incident is a reminder to parents with young children to keep windows closed.
