The RCMP say they've issued traffic tickets to the driver of a bus that crashed in Richmond, leaving passengers with minor injuries.

The crash happened Sunday evening on Highway 99 near Deas Island, south of Vancouver.

An RCMP news release says witnesses reported seeing the bus travelling in the bus lane at high speed when a minivan changed lanes in  front of it.

The release says the bus then left the roadway and collided with a concrete barricade, sending about 20 passengers to hospital.

Laurence Douglas Brand, 48, of Delta was issued tickets for speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt.

Police say they're still looking for the minivan that pulled in front of the bus, which also appears to have contributed to the crash.
