Body found inside burning van in East Vancouver

Police are investigating after a man's body was found inside a burning van in East Vancouver Saturday morning.
Police and arson investigators are on the scene to determine the cause of death and the cause of the fire. (CBC)

Police are investigating after a man's body was found inside a burning van in East Vancouver Saturday morning.

Shortly before 6 a.m. PT, a van parked on Victoria Drive near East 12th Avenue was found burning.

After fire crews extinguished the flames, a man's body was discovered inside.

Vancouver police spokesman Const. Brian Montague says the victim has not yet been identified.

A B.C. coroner will be able to determine the cause of death once an autopsy is conducted later this week, Montague said.

Police and arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
