A Pacific frontal system is bringing overcast skies and evening showers to the South Coast, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

Metro Vancouver could get close to 20 mm of rain by Friday 2:11

The first Pacific frontal system for the South Coast in quite some time is making its way inland Wednesday bringing overcast skies and evening showers, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

Winds will come in from the southwest behind the front for the next few days, bringing continued cloud cover and showers. Vancouver may still see a break in the clouds Thursday evening into Friday morning.

By Friday, the South Coast could get as much as 15 to 20 mm of much-needed rain.

Showers will return for Saturday, but we may see things clear up late Sunday for a return to a summer outlook into early next week.
