Ten years after several Interior communities were ravaged by some of the worst forest fires in B.C. history, people who were touched by the tragedy reflect on how that fiery summer changed their lives.

Thousands of people in areas near Kamloops and Kelowna had to flee. Hundreds watched their homes go up in smoke.

From the man whose careless cigarette sparked the blaze in Barriere, to the fire chief leading the fight against the flames in Kelowna, the CBC's Chris Brown shows us how communities and lives have been rebuilt from the ground up.
