B.C.'s Spencer O'Brien aims for Olympic gold in Sochi
The 25-year-old slopestyle snowboarder is the first B.C. Olympic athlete on our "Ten To Watch" list
A 25-year-old from Courtenay, B.C., is getting ready to compete in slopestyle snowboarding at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
It is the first time the sport has been included in the Olympic Games and, as the reigning world champion, O'Brien is poised to medal.
"I know that if I can put together my best run and land it, I have a really good chance at taking home gold," says O'Brien.
Every night for the next two weeks, CBC's Shane Foxman will profile a different B.C. athlete competing in this year's Games, in a new segment called "Ten To Watch."
