BC Ferries is warning anyone trying to catch an afternoon ferry from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay on Wednesday to make a reservation for their vehicle.

Ferries from the Sunshine Coast to the mainland are expected to be filled with hundreds of mountain bikers taking part in the annual B.C. Bike Race.

The seven-day race began on the North Shore of Vancouver last weekend. It then crossed to Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast and will end in Squamish on Friday.

BC Ferries says customers should expect heavy traffic on the 2:05 p.m. and the 4:20 p.m. sailings, in particular.
