'Ask for Luigi' Italian eatery wins Vancouver Restaurant of the Year

From delicious dim sum to exquisite Italian, Vancouver Magazine's 26th Annual Restaurant Awards honoured the city's top food talent on Tuesday night.

Vancouver casual dining restaurant Ask for Luigi took top honours at Vancouver Magazine's 26th Annual Restaurant Awards on Tuesday night.

Since opening two years ago, the 34-seat Italian restaurant at the corner of Alexander and Gore streets in Railtown has quickly earned a reputation for its family-style service, generous servings of pasta and long waits for a table.

CBC Vancouver's Stephen Quinn and Gloria Macarenko hosted the awards honouring the top talent in the city's food scene.

Celebrity chef Vikram Vij was named chef of the year.
