The number of measles cases connected to an Air China flight from Beijing to Vancouver last month has now reached 11.

"All of these positive cases are people who were either on that original Air China flight on March 21, or they were in contact with someone who had been on that flight," Vancouver Coastal Health spokesperson Tiffany Akins said Friday.

The news came just a day after health officials confirmed that a student at Terry Fox Secondary School in Port Coquitlam, B.C. was the 10th reported case of the highly contagious disease connected to the same flight.

On Wednesday, health officials warned that passengers on a second flight from Beijing to Vancouver on April 4, could also be at risk, after a person diagnosed with measles exposed passengers on that flight to the disease.

The infected person on the April flight is believed to have likely caught it from passengers on board the earlier Air China flight in March.
