Juno Award nominee Adam Robert Thomas will give the audience a taste of his recent self-titled album at the CBC Musical Nooners stage on Monday, July 23.

The jazz bassist received Juno nominations in 2016 for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for his work in the Dan Brubeck Quartet, as well as for Children's Album of the Year for his work with Ginalina.

CBC Musical Nooners are free, live music concerts that happen every weekday on the CBC Vancouver Outdoor Stage at 700 Hamilton St., starting at noon and ending at 1 p.m.

From band leader to producer, writer and sound engineer, Thomas has performed a variety of roles during his career.

During his time at the University of North Texas, he had the chance to perform alongside legends like Kenny Wheeler, Louis Hayes, Eddie Gomez and many others.

Thomas says he considers this period to be a time when he grew musically.

After performing solo for a few years, Thomas started to develop a band and worked on his debut album, which was released in 2015.

Earlier this year he launched a self-titled album, which scored number 11 on the R&B charts in the U.S. Check it out here.
