Alannah Myles settles out of court
Canadian singer Alannah Myles has agreed to an out-of-court settlement in her libel suit against the National Post.
The singer was suing the newspaper, an editor and a reporter, for $9 million.
Myles claims she was defamed in an article, written by reporter Finbar O'Reilly, which touched on her career and personal life.
The two parties settled just before a jury was going to be selected.
Myles has sold eight million albums. Her biggest hit, Black Velvet, won her three Juno Awards and a Grammy. She refused to speak to reporters on Tuesday.
