American actor and model embraces motherhood in glossy Glamour spread

Olivia Wilde has added another famous face to the breastfeeding movement — the American actor and model is featured in a photo shoot in the September issue of Glamour magazine that includes images of her nursing her son.

Advocates for nursing began marking World Breastfeeding Week on Aug. 1 with events designed to break down the barriers that prevent mothers from feeding their babies in public.

In Glamour magazine, Wilde explained why doing the photo shoot was important to her.

"Any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that. Breastfeeding is the most natural thing... It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing — that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed."

Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, American pop star Pink and models Gisele Bündchen, and Miranda Kerr have all made breastfeeding photos public.
