Canada, Ireland lay claim to Oscar nominees Room and Brooklyn

Sunday night's Oscars ceremony will have two Canadian-Irish co-productions in the field of nominated films, the romance Brooklyn and drama Room, and both countries aren't too keen on sharing top billing.

Sunday night's Oscars ceremony will have two Canadian-Irish co-productions in the field of nominated films, the romance Brooklyn and drama Room.

Both countries, however, aren't too keen on sharing top billing.

"We are so hungry for any kind of Canadian content, I think we need to claim providence on these films," says CBC's Eli Glasner.

Glasner spoke to Caitriona Perry, a journalist from Ireland's public broadcaster, who soundly disagrees.
