New Brunswick alcohol sales are the lowest in Canada

New Brunswickers spent the least amount of money on alcohol in the country, according to data from Statistics Canada. New Brunswickers, on average, spent $646.6 on beer, wine and spirits as of March 31, 2012 compared to the Canadian average of $724.2.
Beer spending is the only category where New Brunswickers spent more than the national average.
Alcohol spending climbed three per cent across Canada between 2011 and 2012, but it inched up by 0.5 per cent in New Brunswick.
