American Idol is in its 17th season this year, with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan holding court at the judges' table. The two-hour April 1 episode saw the top 20 contestants performing for their spots going forward, and one artist had Perry fake fainting: Houston's Uché.

Singing Jessie Reyez's seductively heartbreaking "Figures," Uché leaves everything onstage with an emotional, shortened version of the song, complete with passionate mic stand-throwing.

"Honestly, honestly: who the hell are you?" Richie asks, incredulously. We're looking forward to finding out.
