TÖME is making the music you need to hear right now. Born in Montreal and raised in Toronto's Francophone community, TÖME's roots go back to Nigeria and she calls her music Afro-fusion.

She has shared stages with Nigerian superstars like Burna Boy and Wizkid. She's collaborated with Ghanaian pop star King Promise, Nigerian singers Runtown, Zlatan and Wavy the Creator, and most recently with her childhood hero Sean Kingston. Her latest single "I Pray" is racking up hundreds of thousands of spins.

In this episode of CBC Music's The Intro, TÖME performs "I Pray" and "Free," and chats with CBC Music Mornings host Saroja Coelho about her music. Watch it above.

CBC Music's The Intro is a new feature where CBC Music brings essential emerging Canadian talent to the world. Episodes of CBC Music's The Intro will be released weekly on CBC Gem, CBC Music's YouTube channel and here on cbc.ca/music.
