Devon Cole, Dylan Sinclair and more to perform at the 2023 Juno Opening Night Awards

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced the performers and co-hosts for this year's Juno Opening Night Awards on March 11. 

Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe, host of CBC Music's The Block, and actor Andrew Phung, currently starring in Run the Burbswill co-host the 2023 Saturday night ceremony, where more than 40 Junos will be awarded. Viewers can livestream the show at 6 p.m. MT/8 p.m. ET at CBCMusic.ca/junos, on CBC Gem or via CBC Music's Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube pages. 

Several of this year's Juno nominees will take the stage, including: pop singer and breakthrough artist nominee Devon Cole; contemporary R&B recording of the year nominee Dylan Sinclair; rock band the Sadies, who are up for adult alternative album of the year; the Bearhead Sisters, a trio up for traditional Indigenous artist or group of the year; and composer Jean-Michel Blais, who received a nod for instrumental album of the year. 

For a special performance during the in-memoriam segment, the Sadies will be joined by country singer Corb Lund and Shannon Johnson of the McDades, one of the groups nominated for traditional roots album of the year.

Music promoter Ron Sakamoto, who is this year's recipient of the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, and Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew, the recipient of the MusiCounts Inspired Minds Ambassador Award, will also be recognized at the ceremony.
