Brett Kissel, Lindsay Ell, James Barker Band nominated for 2019 CCMA Awards

The nominees for the 2019 Canadian Country Music Association Awards are out, and Brett Kissel and James Barker Band are leading the announcement with five nominations each.

Kissel, who won the CCMA Award for interactive artist last year, is again up for interactive artist or group of the year, as well as entertainer of the year, male artist of the year, songwriter of the year and the Fans' Choice Award. James Barker Band, which also took home a CCMA Award last year, is up for interactive artist or group of the year, group or duo of the year, single of the year, songwriter of the year and Fans Choice Award.

Lindsay Ell, Paul Brandt, Tim Hicks, the Reklaws, Tenille Townes and Dallas Smith are all up for four nominations each, while Brandt, Hicks, Kissel, Smith and Dean Brody are all up for entertainer of the year, which is an award that hasn't been given out in 30 years.

CBC's q is also nominated for a CCMA Award, for the show's Grand Ole Opry episode. Listen to it here.
