Case #0737: Death From Above ~ July 10, 1903

Nathaniel Arnold and Jacob Jeffries, two well-known business partners, go up in a hot air balloon as a publicity stunt for their textile company. Unfortunately something goes wrong and the hot air balloon veers off course and begins to plummet into the river. Many witnesses watch the horrifying display. When the wreckage is eventually dragged ashore no traces of either body are found. The initial conclusion was that both men drowned and that the river would be dragged in order to recover the bodies, that is until Mr. Arnold’s body turned up the next day in an alley on the other side of town stabbed to death.
