Murdoch Mysteries: On the Case logo

Murdoch Mysteries: On the Case puts you into the role of an Investigator, helping Station House #4 solve a series of strange cases. The cases are all unrelated and you can try as many or as few of them as you like. The steps below give you an indication of how a case works and when you're ready, select any of the  Available Cases.

 Meet with Constable Crabtree

When you open a new case, you'll see a video of Constable Crabtree where he'll give you an overview of the case. He's counting on you to lend your expertise to Station House #4 and help solve these cases.

 Follow your leads

A list of current leads follows Crabtree's video. You'll find some common starting points among cases. Follow as many leads as you like, but if you want to compete with the best, know this: Murdoch won't follow every lead, only ones he feels are neccessary.

 Take notes

Some of these cases may get confusing. Not every witness experiences an event in the same way. Some may not tell the truth. You'll have to make note of who said what to whom... and a notebook and pencil will be invaluable tools.

Discuss the case with other Investigators

The fans of Murdoch Mysteries are not only an inquisitive group, but a helpful one too! If you're stuck and need some help, reach out to fellow Investigators in the Facebook comments section at the end of every case. Discuss strategies, theories, and puzzles, too! If you're trying to compete with Murdoch, consulting with another Investigator may help.

 Solve the Case

When you think you're ready, you can solve the case by answering a series of key questions about it. See if you can answer them all correctly on the first attempt. If you don't, that's okay! You can follow leads you didn't before or get a hint from Detective Murdoch - who never needs more than one attempt to solve a case!
