Never Destroy Us: The Dears at Pasaguero
Saturday, July 28, 7 p.m. ET
Bandleader Murray Lightburn's directorial film debut chronicling the ‘years of the Dears’. This rockumentary takes us from early 90’s Montreal to 2012, through a 17-year career that has seen Canada’s indie rock darlings through many ups and downs. The film is anchored around a sold-out, week-long residency in Mexico City that cements the band’s commitment to press on.
"...The Dears exhibit more artistic imagination and musical invention than most bands manage in a lifetime."
- The Independent
Watch Never Destroy Us: The Dears Live @ Pasagüero
Never Destroy Us, The Dears at Pasagüero is now streaming from CBC Montreal and CBCMusic.ca. Bandleader Murray Lightburn directed; wife and bandmate Natalia Yanchak produced. Like much of their creative output, this film is another of their joint efforts. Montreal's long-standing, outstanding indie rock darlings worked with American filmmaker Michael Mohan in Mexico, and came home from a sold-out concert series in the country with a nine-camera HD shoot of the shows.
