Insomniac Film Festival

Works by young amateur filmmakers often get the short shrift, not even screening in school film festivals for logistical reasons. So this showcase of shorts was born, to give the rising talent a place to play their works on the big screen and build a community of collaborators.

Emancipation Day: Freedom Train Ride

Besides commemorating the Underground Railroad chapter of Canadian history, the Freedom Train Ride will also remember the work of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters this year. The train departs at Union Station to arrive at Downsview Station at 12:15 AM on Aug 1, known as Emancipation Day.
