What's On: An epic water fight and more!

It hasn't felt like we've had much of a summer this year. Maybe the following events will change that feeling:


Epic Water Fight
Aug 23 (2 - 5 PM)
Trinity Bellwoods Park (south-west side)

"Participate in Canada's Biggest Water Fight! Your chance to relive your childhood memories!" That's what the organizers promise. They also suggest to come prepared for some line-ups to fill up your choice of water blaster.

Festival of South Asia
Aug 23 - Aug 24
Gerrard Street (between Greenwood and Coxwell Ave.)

Event highlights include cultural entertainment represent Indian, Afghani, Pakistani, Bengali and Sri Lankan traditions, food from more than 20 restaurants at low, affordable prices, and even a fashion show. Bargain shopping and activities like a cricket challenge are also on offer.

Taste of Manila

Bathurst and Wilson Ave.

Organizers describe the first ever Taste of Manila festival as a showcase of a wide variety of Filipino foods, games, cultural presentations, camaraderie, bands, folk dances, and Pinoy street games.

Irie Music Festival

Irie Music Festival has since continued to expose culturally diverse artists to hundreds of thousands of fans while providing the larger community with a unique opportunity to celebrate African-Canadian culture.

Scarborough Afro-Caribbean Festival

From face-painting to exciting dance competitions, there is definitely something for every member of your family to enjoy. The festival is an exciting showcase of the vibrant cultural fabric of our community through Afro-Caribbean art, dance, music, and food.

Carmen On Tap brings the excellence, virtuosity and power of opera to you. Georges Bizet's famous score will delight and tantalize as you enjoy a sumptuous meal. All dramatic walls are banished. There is no stage. Carmen On Tap is all about you and the cast who deliciously blur the line between opera and real life.

In Concert: St. Royals

At the musical tribute to the King of Pop, the St. Royals 17-piece Superband will bring the heat with a set of classic Michael Jackson dance repertoire.
