Errol's Pick

A star-studded benefit show featuring artists like Feist and the Barenaked Ladies takes place at Massey Hall on Saturday. The show is a benefit for Beverley School which has been doing a stellar job working with students who have developmental and/or physical disabilities since the 50s. Two years back, two teachers at Beverley received the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence. And three years back, the popular American TV show 60 Minutes visited the school and interviewed a few teachers about how they use iPods and iPads to help students communicate and interact with others. Local singer-songwriter Hayden dreamed up "Dream Serenade" five years back when his first child was born with what is called a chromosome deletion that resulted in developmental disabilities. Hayden says the first years were overwhelming for him and his wife Christine, and that they really appreciated having access to the specialized services at Beverley and getting a helping hand from the caregivers there. Joining Hayden will be Billy Talent, Sarah Harmer and many other special guests.
