Someone Knows Something

About the Show

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING is an original true-crime podcast examining unsolved cases of missing or murdered individuals, produced by CBC Radio One. David Ridgen hosts the weekly series, which focuses on a single Canadian cold case each season in hopes of uncovering new information, while also exploring how the cases have affected the families and communities involved.

SEASON 1

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING: ADRIEN MCNAUGHTON (11x45-60)

In 1972, five-year-old Adrien McNaughton vanished while on a family fishing trip in Eastern Ontario. Despite an intensive search and investigation, no sign of Adrien was found, no clue as to where he might be. The case has hung over the area like a dark mass ever since, especially in the small town of Arnprior, where the McNaughton family lived.

In season one of the podcast Someone Knows Something, host David Ridgen, who grew up in Arnprior, goes back to investigate. Ridgen, a independent filmmaker with a proven record of solving cold cases, asks the questions that have been waiting for answers for over 40 years. He speaks to family, friends and other members of the community, discovering new leads and evidence, trying to put the ghosts of the past to rest.

SEASON 2

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING: SHERYL SHEPPARD (12x45-60)

New case. New leads. New hope.

David Ridgen heads to Hamilton, Ontario to investigate the disappearance of Sheryl Sheppard. On December 31, 1997, at a New Year's Eve party broadcast on live TV, Sheppard accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Michael Lavoie.

Two days later, she disappeared.

In season two of SKS, David Ridgen joins Sheppard's mother Odette on her search for answers.

SEASON 3

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING: DEE & MOORE (6x45-60)

In 1964 Mississippi, the bodies of two black teenagers — Charles Moore and Henry Dee — were pulled from the Mississippi River. They’d been murdered by the Ku Klux Klan. But no one was ever convicted. In his first and most successful cold case investigation, SKS host David Ridgen joins Thomas Moore, the brother of one of the victims, as he returns to Mississippi 40 years later to get the case reopened and confront the Klansmen involved.

SEASON 4

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING: GREAVETTE (5x45-60)

When a package arrived in the mail at Wayne Greavette's home, it seemed like an early gift for the holidays. Inside was a wrapped present and a typewritten letter addressed to him, with the postscript: "Have a very Merry Christmas and may you never have to buy another flashlight." When Wayne turned the flashlight on, it exploded, killing him instantly. Over 20 years later, the case remains unsolved, leaving Wayne's widow and children consumed with finding the culprit. Along with SKS host David Ridgen, the Greavette family investigates.
