QUEENS
QUEENS (6x10) is a comedy-mystery whodunnit following an eclectic cast of Toronto drag queens leading up to the night of the “Miss Church Street” pageant. Each episode focuses on the misadventures of a particular drag performer whose preparation for the pageant is interrupted in a strange and unfortunate way. All of these mishaps lead the queens to realize the truth- they have all been sabotaged! But who among them is the saboteur? Or, rather, saboteuse?
The show features a diverse cast of queens and modern queer folk who make up the very fabric of our city. Champagna as “Elaina”, the reigning Miss Church Street, who loses the crown; Ivory Towers as “Shoshanna”, Elaina’s rival and an old school queen, Quick Lewinsky as “Mooney”, a comic relief queen, Allysin Chaynes as “Naomi”, a spiritual vibe-loving queen; Lucy Flawless as “Sharron”, a type-A bossy queen, Lucinda Miu as “Minnie”, the ditzy queen with a heart of gold; and Jada Shada Hudson as “Paper”, who has a traumatic run-in at a strip club; Baby Bel Bel as "Babs" who is stood up by an internet hookup; and Kyah Green as "Lou" an endlessly tired and overworked non-binary person has to juggle four jobs, three partners, two cats, and all of the queens' feelings.
QUEENS is produced by Harlow Creative, Executive Producer Caitlin Brown, Created by Justin Gray, Directed by Pat Mills and with producers Eddie Majnemer, Natalie Cooper, Michael Bawcutt.
