LET’S MAKE A SCI-FI

About the Show

CBC Podcasts' LET'S MAKE A SCI-FI is an eight-part adventure through the creative process as three comedians try writing a successful sci-fi pilot—with help from scientific experts and Hollywood screenwriting pros.

Ryan Beil is a very talented comedian, but in his heart he is a serious sci-fi nerd. So, Ryan is going on a journey to write a killer science fiction pilot script. He’s hired the only writer’s room he can afford — his comedy buddies Maddy Kelly and Mark Chavez. Using nothing but their imaginations, they’ll help him achieve his goal while cracking a few good jokes and consulting industry experts (like actor Rainn Wilson (The Office, Star Trek: Discovery), astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson and director Neill Blomkamp (District 9)) along the way.

From Kelly&Kelly, a Webby award-winning studio in Vancouver, BC known for creating This Sounds Serious (‘Best Podcast of 2020’ - The New Yorker) and CBC Radio’s This Is That.
