Hosts Ify Chiwetelu and Trevor Dineen leap into action with Canadians on a mission to make meaningful changes

CBC Radio today announced a new original weekly program that leaps into action with Canadians who are making things happen, and nudges you to make a change, big or small. Hosted by Ify Chiwetelu and Trevor Dineen and produced by the team behind DNTO, NOW OR NEVER will launch on CBC Radio One on Sunday, October 30 (8 p.m./ 8:30 NT) and is available online at

On each episode, hosts Ify and Trevor will meet Canadians who are deeply motivated to make a real change. Each story takes courage and guts. As listeners will discover, the path to change can be messy and is always full of challenges and surprises - whether it’s confronting bullies, asking strangers to fund a dream or transforming the commute to work. In the first episode, listeners will hear the story of an Edmonton man who decides to send an unusual message to Donald Trump from Canada, a woman who took the plunge and went back to school 40 years after being bullied, and a mother who took to the courts to force schools to take bullying more seriously.

NOW OR NEVER explores what’s really involved in making something happen and how audiences can do it too. The show will test theories, troubleshoot plans and recruit helpers, all in the name of getting it done. Ify and Trevor invite listeners to join in on Facebook and Twitter, to suggest ideas and share their experiences and advice.

Ify Chiwetelu is a Nigerian-born, Calgary-raised former financial analyst who quit her job in the energy sector to pursue her creativity.  In doing so, Ify charted her own path to form a career as a stand-up comic, improv performer, and comedy writer. She has written articles for CBC COMEDY and is a contributing writer for the upcoming second season of CBC's acclaimed comedy series, Baroness von Sketch Show

In addition to hosting NOW OR NEVER, Trevor Dineen is the traffic reporter for CBC Manitoba's flagship #1 morning show, Information Radio. And when he’s not guiding drivers through stalls and collisions, he's bringing the laughs on Twitter and settling into a fun new chapter in life as a dad. Prior to joining CBC, Trevor worked at CityTV Winnipeg and hosted a style/fashion web series.
