TORONTO – A second season of CBC’s acclaimed sex and science docuseries JENSPLAINING (10x15) is on the way, as announced yesterday by CBC. Produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment, the series features outspoken and unapologetic women’s health expert Dr. Jen Gunter. With each episode, Dr. Gunter continues her pursuit to eradicate unproven wellness claims and the spread of misinformation by debunking celebrity-backed trends, folk remedies, and useless products marketed to women. JENSPLAINING season two begins production this fall with topics including masturbation and orgasm, libido, sex after menopause, and sleep, to name a few. The new season will premiere on CBC Gem later in the 2021-22 broadcast year.

The first season premiere of JENSPLAINING on CBC Gem garnered more first-week total views than any other short-form series to date and was among the most-streamed programs on the service for the first few months available.*

JENSPLAINING is the first digital series produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment and the second series the prodco has delivered to tackle health and wellness-related topics.

“A woman's right to her own body, particularly to make decisions about her health and wellbeing, is contingent on access to information and resources. Dr. Jen Gunter is one of the leading voices providing that access, and we’re proud to join the fight to support evidence-based content,” said Carrie Mudd, President, Peacock Alley Entertainment.

For Peacock Alley, Carrie Mudd is Executive Producer, Sally Karam is Showrunner, and Ryan Valentini is Producer. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager of Entertainment, Factual and Sports; Jennifer Dettman is Executive Director, Unscripted Content; and Mike Miner is Executive in Charge of Production.

Canadians looking to revisit JENSPLAINING from the beginning can watch season one on CBC Gem.

In addition to JENSPLAINING, the #1 bestselling author of The Vagina Bible, launched a new book last week, THE MENOPAUSE MANIFESTO: Own Your Health with Facts and Feminism. Dr. Gunter, Canadian OB/GYN and the internet's most fearless advocate for women's health, delivers empowerment through knowledge by countering stubborn myths and misunderstandings about menopause with hard facts, science, fascinating historical perspective, and expert advice. Frank and funny, Dr. Gunter debunks misogynistic attitudes and challenges the over-mystification of menopause to reveal everything you need to know about menopause.
