Shannon Scott

Shannon started preparing for her career with CBC at the ripe old age of two, when she could be found running through the house yelling "from coast to coast and around the world on shortwave, this is As it Happens!" Needless to say her parents were not surprised when she told them she was going to work for the public broadcaster.

Shannon is currently the host and producer of CBC Calgary News at 11, where she wraps up the news of the day, be it local, national or international. And sometimes she does sports.

Shannon started her CBC career in Yellowknife, where she travelled across the NWT and western Nunavut covering stories ranging from the revitalisation of Indigenous languages, to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to young baseball fans in Kugluktuk, Nunavut, to Yellowknife's first bubble soccer game.

You can catch her nightly at 11pm on CBC Television.
