Jason D’Souza

Jason D’Souza is the interim host of CBC Radio One’s FRESH AIR. Jason joins the CBC Ontario team from CBC British Columbia.

Jason D'Souza began his CBC journey as the recipient of the Gzowski internship in 2012. He has since worn many different hats, including backfill hosting on various CBC British Columbia Radio and television programs such as The Early Edition, On the Coast, North by Northwest and Our Vancouver.

Jason is the producer and creator of the multi platform series Matheson. The series involved spending an entire month embedded at LA Matheson Secondary School in inner city Surrey, BC. The project allowed audiences into the sights and sounds of high school like never before and heard from students about the lives of teenagers today, completely unfiltered.

He has also won multiple RTDNA's and received his Bachelor of Communication degree from Simon Fraser University.

With two immigrant parents from India, Jason is extremely passionate about bringing to air a range of diverse voices in telling the stories of the communities he covers. So after several stints of working in Toronto over the years, Jason is finally excited to call the city his home. He is especially looking forward to exploring the rest of Ontario, one hiking trail at a time.
