Dwight Drummond is an award-winning journalist and the host of Canada Tonight with Dwight Drummond on CBC News Network. 

Dwight has worked in broadcast news for more than thirty years and has received numerous Canadian Screen Award nominations in that time. He won the 2021 Canadian Screen Award for Best News Anchor, Local and was nominated again in 2022 for the award.  His former flagship supper hour show won for Best Local Newscast while he was at the helm. 

Dwight is the recipient of the Toronto Metropolitan University Alumni Award of Distinction, and has been inducted into TMU’s Faculty of Radio and Television Arts’ Wall of Fame. 

While working as a reporter, Dwight was known for his exclusives and has filed from the U.S, Africa and the Caribbean. He earned the African Canadian Achievement Award for Excellence in Media and has also been honoured with commendations for his volunteer and community work.

Residing in Toronto with his wife and two children, when he's not on your TV, phone or tablet, Dwight can be found in the cheering section at his daughters' basketball games.
