Craig Norris has over a decade of broadcasting experience. When it comes to hosting, Craig has worked in a variety of roles and for different networks. Craig was born and raised in the Waterloo Region - lives now in Guelph and is well known in that community. In fact, he has lived in the area since 1975. His knowledge of the region and connection to it runs deep. Before coming to CBC - Craig Norris worked at CTV - starting in 2000, where he was a host on the live current affairs TV program, The Chatroom. While there he interviewed everyone from former Prime Minister Joe Clark to a homeless teen to the cast of The Sopranos. Craig also found time to work as a music reporter for eTalk! By 2005, Craig moved over to CBC Radio, where among various other things, he hosts - on Radio 3 - The Craig Norris Hour and The R3-30 and CBC Radio One's hit comedy show Laugh Out Loud! He also voices Editor's Choice and has guest-hosted on CBC Radio 2 Drive and guest hosted As It Happens. During the summer of 2011, he hosted and co-produced the critically-acclaimed current affairs CBC show, Know Your Rights: A Field Guide to The Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He is most proud of the interviews, he conducted in the field, for the program.
Craig has proved in recent years that he is not only a strong network radio host - but is also very digitally savvy. He has long been tweeting and using Facebook to connect with his audience. Craig has other talents. His formative years were spent studying piano at The Royal Conservatory of Music. In high school he added saxophone, clarinet and flute. The past 21+ years has been spent fronting The Kramdens.
Craig has joined the new CBC Kitchener-Waterloo station as the host of the new local show, The Morning Edition on Radio One 89.1 FM.
