Brenda Irving

Three-time Gemini Award nominee Brenda Irving has been a member of the CBC Sports team since 1995, where she covers the world of high-performance sport. 

Irving has also covered ten previous Olympic Games for CBC, including her role as a member of the figure skating broadcast team during the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Over the course of her career with CBC, Irving has covered a wide variety of sports and sporting events including tennis, gymnastics, Nordic combined, snowboarding, skiing, judo, triathlon, Grey Cup championships and Stanley Cup Finals. Irving has also covered three FIFA World Cups and the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games for CBC.

Before joining the CBC Sports team, Irving worked for both CBC and CTV in their news departments with postings across Canada including stations in Montreal, Ottawa and Kitchener, ON.

Born in Cambridge, ON, Irving is a graduate of Conestoga College's radio and television broadcasting program.
