About Marshall McLuhan

I am resolutely opposed to all innovation, all change, but I am determined to understand what's happening.
- Marshall McLuhan

He was a man of idioms and idiosyncrasies, deeply intelligent and a soothsayer. He had prescient knowledge of the Internet. A Cambridge educated literary scholar, English professor and unconventional author, McLuhan's philosophies of "electric media" changed our understanding of the intersect between culture and technology forever. Modern day cornerstones like "the medium is the message" and "the global village" are fruits of his rampant theorizing. Loved or loathed, his ideas and "probes" penetrated the fabric of our evolving digital lives.
