New Democratic Party Convention

New Democratic Party members on PEI gather this weekend for their convention. The party appears to be making some headway with the island electorate but still has a long way to go. Leader Mike Redmond will drop by the studio to talk about his experiences so far at the helm of the party... and how he's gearing up for the next election.

The party's annual convention is this Saturday, and the guest speaker is Lorraine Michael, Leader of the NDP in Newfoundland and Labrador and MHA for Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi.

SpinTime - Steven Page

StevenPage.jpgOur SpinTime Guest today has had a music career that in some ways might echo his mental health. Many ups and downs. Steven Page is well known as the former lead man in the band Bare Naked Ladies. More recently he's launched a solo music career.

Steven Page has also gone public about living with mental illness. He participating in fundraisers for the PEI Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association... and he shared his SpinTime favorites with Karen Mair.

The Heritage MEAL "Meet - Eat - And - Learn"

Heritage Meal.jpgThe Heritage M-E-A-L, which stands for "Meet - Eat - And - Learn", is also a chance to celebrate PEI's rich food, farming history and explores ways to rejuvenate the local food system.

Shannon Courtney, one of the organizers of the Heritage MEAL, spoke with Karen Mair about the event... which takes place on Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Farm Centre on University Ave in Charlottetown.
