An Island Affair - Fundraising Concert

CatherineMacLellanAndrewKing.jpgSeveral Island musicians will be giving back tonight to the organization that has helped them with their careers over the years. "An Island Affair" is a special fund-raising concert at the Factory Cookhouse in Charlottetown.

The money raised will go towards Music PEI which is under a little financial crunch these days. The list of performers is impressive including Catherine MacLellan, Nudie, Mitch Schurman, Josh Carter, Katie McGarry, Irish Mythen, Emiliee Sorrey and Zach Squires. Catherine MacLellan and Andrew King dropped by our studios.

Miranda Hill - Winter Tales Series

MirandaHillMainstreet.jpgMiranda Hill is an award winning Canadian author and has started Project Bookmark Canada... literally putting portions of books in the actual location where they are set. Miranda Hill also works on something called "Page to Podium" that helps authors make their works come alive in readings. She has been working on a new novel and is the Winter's Tales visiting author this month. She dropped by our Mainstreet studio.

I'll Be Seeing You Concert

SuzanneJacqueline.jpgAt this time of year we hear a lot of music that evokes memories of wartime and remembrance. Two Island musicians have put together a concert filled with musical memories. Vocalist Suzanne Campbell and pianist Jacqueline Sorenson-Young are presenting their annual "I'll Be Seeing You" concert in two churches this weekend. Karen Mair paid them a visit during a rehearsal.
