Susan MacConnell

Pictou, NS resident Rae Gunn has been so inspired by her close friend Susan MacConnell (above), that she nominated her for an Inspiration of the Day. Rae filled out this form on her behalf.
Name: Susan MacConnell

She lives in: Pictou County, Nova Scotia
#1 Health Goal: Being a healthy role model for her three young daughters.
Biggest Challenge: The ongoing juggling of duties involved with being a mother, wife, volunteer, friend, employee etc. Many make the excuse that there's no time to make the healthy choices. Susan is an amazing mother who knows you have to practice what you preach, so she makes the extra effort to lead a balanced life.
Biggest Accomplishment: Taking the "Live Right Now" challenge to heart and inspiring friends, family and co-workers to make small changes to lead healthier lives. She has been a leader, creating events in her community and at work. She has reached out to many and provided an enthusiastic push in the right direction to jump on board. Her children and husband support her efforts and view the activities as fun times spent together as a family. She initiated walking breaks at work, which co-workers have continued by walking several times a week.

She will continue to Live Right Now by: She has shared with me that these healthy challenges have now become habits and are here to stay!

Personal Tip for Canadians: By sharing your goals, stories and successes with others makes it easier to stay focused and follow through.
