If you head west on Highway 1-A halfway between Calgary and Cochrane, there's a rather peaceful, pastoral area called Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. But more than a hundred years ago, it was actually the site of a bustling town and sandstone quarry. Over the course of the past 10 years, the Calgary chapter of the Archeological Society of Alberta has dug-up the history of the site. Shari Peyerl shared the findings today as part of Calgary Historic Week. She is co-director of the Glenbow Town and Quarry Project.
