BC Public Safety Minister presses Surrey on policing decision

Minister of Public Safety, Mike Farnworth, has writted a strongly woreded letter to Surrey Mayor and Council urging action on a policing decision. At the end of April Farnworth recommended the City continue its transition to a municipal police force, the Surrey Police Service. But Mayor Brenda Locke has made it clear she intends to keep the Surrey RCMP.
