Each year, maple producers lose product and money due to something called buddy. But research by Agriculture Canada and Fanshawe College, with support of Mitacs, is underway to avoid the problem. Members of the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers' Association are in support of the research being done, including George Willoughby. He operates Marg & George Willoughby Maple Products on St. Joseph Island. He spoke with the CBC's Martha Dillman.
