Western University law professor Richard McLaren was one of the key sources in Icarus, the 2017 film that won the Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary at Sunday's awards.
Last year, McLaren released the McLaren Report, which was commissioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to look into allegations and evidence of state-sponsored doping in Russian athletics. Russia's banishment from the 2018 Winter Olympics was partly the result of the investigation.
McLaren, who was at the Academy Awards and saw the Icarus team receive the honour, spoke with Afternoon Drive host Chris dela Torre about the experience and what the win means for his work.
