Canadians should be concerned about McKinsey contracts, says investigative journalist
17:32
Reports that the federal Liberal government has spent more than $100-million on contracts with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company since coming to power are putting the spotlight on a firm that normally works behind the scenes. This past week, a House of Commons committee agreed to look more deeply into the government’s relationship with McKinsey. Walt Bogdanich did his own deep dive into the firm with his recent book, When McKinsey Comes to Town: The Hidden Influence of the World's Most Powerful Consulting Firm. The three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter joins Piya Chattopadhyay to shed light on how McKinsey operates. Bogdanich thinks Canadians should be concerned, because he says McKinsey’s work is shrouded in secrecy and lacks accountability.
